The Thunder Rolls

And the wind blows, and blows and blows. I spent the fair share of the afternoon locked in the downstairs bathroom with two cats, a dog and a two year old. We've been under tornado a watch for most of the day and when the sirens blew, we had to take cover. We have been surrounded by a dense, thick fog and tornadoes weren't visible until they were right on top of us. It has been the most odd weather I have ever seen. One was spotted two miles from my house, but never touched ground. Typically this part of the country doesn't have tornadoes, but today we were literally surrounded by them. Two towns just a little farther south of me were hit badly and my prayers go out to anyone living there.

Sounds like my sister's afternoon. How scary. Glad you guys are OK! I heard there was another one that hit Cheyenne around 7:00 or 8:00 last night? (I can't remember what time the weather guy said on the news.)

I'm glad you're OK! We don't get too many tornadoes in NY, but I grew up in IL and I remember the drills in school where we would all go out into the hallway and sit with our hands on our heads. I can't imagine how it must feel to wait out a real one.
