I'm a Cinnamon Girl

Most people have a preference. Peppermint or cinnamon. Toothpaste, gum, drinks, food... it's normally one or the other. Well, I'm a cinnamon girl. At least 85% of the time that is. I like to think it's because I'm too hot to handle, or it could be the fact that I really really just like the smell of cinnamon. In food.

Christmas time brought around some fantastic recipes for peppermint popcorn. I must admit, I really really loved it. However, I needed to try it a different way. The Cinnamon way.

I have to say, it's wonderful. I love it. It's a little hot on the lips, because I used extra cinnamon oil (on purpose) but who doesn't want hot lips anyway?

Here's what I did. It's kind of made up since I didn't take the time to look up an actual recipe.

White Chocolate Cinnamon Popcorn

Ingredients:
6 ounces baking white chocolate
a bag full of popcorn
cinnamon oil, amount you desire. (the kind you find in the candy making section of the store) don't let little ones play with this, it will burn!!!
a table spoon of margarine
couple drops of red food coloring

Melt chocolate over low heat. Add tablespoon of butter until it melts as well. Add cinnamon oil and food coloring. Mix together. In a large bowl mix popcorn and chocolate mixture together. That's it. Pretty easy!!!

Sounds yummy! I'm a cinnamon girl as well. I love cinnamon rolls, candles, cinnamon toothpicks, red candy cinnamon hearts ... I will definitely be trying this. :)

that sounds yummy.. I love cinnamon too.. When I was younger, we used to get these terribly hot cinnamon tooth pics.. I loved them.. They used the cinnamon oil too, but I have never seen or bought the oil before.. I will have to try this recipe for sure!

I heart cinnamon, but it needs to be pair up with sugar. LOL. I adore Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Sooo, if I get my husband (he's the cook and loves to make flavored popcorn!!) to make this, I think I will ask for a cinnamon/sugar version. :-)

Louise and Jeannie ~ Cinnamon toothpicks were one of my favorite things as a kid. LOVED THEM and every once in a while I'll grab a toothpick and dunk it in the oil. YUM. Jeannie, you can get the oil at hobby lobby, michaels...pretty much any place that sells cake making stuff.
Marianne~ I debated about adding colored sugar to this, then at last minute decided not to. You'll have to let me know how it comes out!!
