Bonk

Here's the thing. I'm a clutzy person on a regular basis. It's gotten better as I've gotten older, but I can't tell you how many times I've fallen, or spilled or tripped. I have a perpetually broken pinkie toe. Even on my wedding day I had a broken toe, and I wore house slippers under my gown instead of my beautiful shoes because my foot was so swollen. (I ran into a pew) The funny thing about this fact... I'm pretty darn coordinated. I'm athletic. I was good at sports. (except tennis, I suck at tennis) I can dance well...it's just every day life that gets in my way.

Well..... here's the other thing. I gave birth to a person with a cloned personality of myself, he is exactly like me, so how could I not expect him to be clumsy. He is. I have seen him walk directly into a parked car because he was too busy talking. A move I made in seventh grade, walking to track practice.

Last week, though, he had an incident. We've had lots of falls and bangs and gone down stairs head first, but came out pretty unscathed. This was no such event. It is a mother's worst nightmare to pick her crying crumpled baby up off the floor and have blood covering his whole entire upper body...which quickly covers your entire upper body. Soaking towels and carpets. You must stay calm and not look scared. It's hard to do, because the only thing you really want to happen right at that moment, is for God to hand over your baby's pain to you, becuse you know you can handle it..... it's unbearable for me to see people in pain, emotional or otherwise.

He conked his eye on a chair. Because he was looking behind him while running.

I decided not to have stitches put in as the scar will be there no matter what and the liquid bandaid seemed to hold it together better than I thought it would, but it was one of those wounds that could have gone either way. It's healing fine. His black eye is almost gone.

Poor Parker. Hunter fell into a cabinet last summer, and I had to take him to get stitches. I hope Parker is better soon.
