Penne Pasta with Vodka Cream Sauce

Just so everyone doesn't begin to think that the only thing I make at this house is sugary treats and snacks.... here is a new wonderful recipe I found.
There is a reason I don't post very many dinner recipes....I cook dinner at night. The sun is gone most of the time, and I have no light source besides the flash on my camera, and believe me you wouldn't want to eat it if you saw it taken with that.
I was in the mood for pasta today. (I'll have another pasta recipe next week, but I will actually have to go to the grocery store in order to make that one.) So I tried to find a recipe that I had all the ingredients for...and it turned out so wonderfully, tastefully fantastic!!! It's spicy. It's kinda cheesy. It's pretty much perfect. (At least it was today)

Penne Pasta with Vodka Cream Sauce

1 bag/ box of cooked penne pasta. add a little salt if you want to the water to give the actual pasta a little flavor.

3 slices of bacon

1/2 onions

3 cloves minced garlic

1/3 cup vodka

2/3 cups heavy cream

1 can diced tomatoes (I pureed mine)

3 or 4 chopped sun dried tomatoes

About 1/2 cup grated Romano Cheese (It's a little saltier than Parmesan cheese)

1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper (you can add more if you like it a little spicier...I did)

Slice bacon into tiny pieces and cook until done. Do not drain. Add onion and garlic and cook until clear (about 3 or 4 minutes.) Add vodka and cream and cook for another 3 or 4 minutes. Add diced or pureed tomatoes, sun dried tomatos, crushed red pepper and Romano cheese. Cover and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Add pasta and cook for another 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve garnished with a little extra grated Romano cheese. Fantastico!!!
