Just An Idea

I love using old things and making them new. Recycling if you will. Because they have a history. If they could talk, they would tell you a story and where they've been and what they've seen. I found this idea some time ago and decided this beautiful, but cold, first day of April to use it. Crates come in all shapes and sizes. I thought this little pimento loaf crate would work perfectly. I lined it with plastic and then filled it with flowers and a little extra dirt....and now I have the perfect springtime windowsill decor with a little history. Hyacinth would be beautiful in these and that's what I tried to find at the garden shop, but they weren't blooming yet. Wouldn't these make great gifts?

Thanks Holly~ you should try it, you guys have way more greenery out there than we have here, I'm sure!

As someone with a 188 year-old house, I LOVE me some history! I would SO TOTALLY buy those. I've never seen crates in that shape and size. (I use crates to hold cookbooks).

Thanks Lisa~ I lived in a house built in the thirties. Loved it and miss it terribly. I have the big crates to hold big house plants in my kitchen.
